5 Books That Will Change Your Mindset About What Is Possible

"Once your mindset changes, everything on the outside will change along with it.” — Steve Maraboli

Reading books can be a great way to consciously work on your mindset and begin creating the mindset shifts necessary for you to achieve your goals and manifest your desires with greater ease. Today, I am sharing five books that I personally love and that will change your perception of what is possible.  Instead of writing a description of the books, I have taken three of my favourite quotes from each book and used them to illustrate what the book is all about.

1. As a Man Thinketh - James Allen

"A person is limited only by the thoughts that he chooses.

"A man's mind may be likened to a garden, which may be intelligently cultivated or allowed to run wild; but whether cultivated or neglected, it must, and will, bring forth. If no useful seeds are put into it, then an abundance of useless weed seeds will fall therein, and will continue to produce their kind."

"Self-control is strength. Right thought is mastery. Calmness is power."

2. The Biology of Belief: Unleashing the Power of Consciousness, Matter & Miracles - Bruce Lipton

"We are not victims of our genes, but masters of our fates, able to create lives overflowing with peace, happiness, and love."

"Biological behaviour can be controlled by invisible forces, including thought, as well as it can be controlled by physical molecules like penicillin, a fact that provides the scientific underpinning for pharmaceutical-free energy medicine."

"Because we are not powerless biochemical machines, popping a pill every time we are mentally or physically out of tune is not the answer. Drugs and surgery are powerful tools when they are not overused, but the notion of simple drug fixes is fundamentally flawed. Every time a drug is introduced into the body to correct function A, it inevitably throws off function B, C, or D. It is not gene-directed hormones and neurotransmitters that control our bodies and our minds; our beliefs control our bodies, our minds, and thus our lives … Oh ye of little belief!"

3. You Are the Placebo: Making Your Mind Matter - Joe Dispenza

"Your thoughts and feelings come from your past memories. If you think and feel a certain way, you begin to create an attitude. An attitude is a cycle of short-term thoughts and feelings experienced over and over again. Attitudes are shortened states of being. If you string a series of attitudes together, you create a belief. Beliefs are more elongated states of being and tend to become subconscious. When you add beliefs together, you create a perception. Your perceptions have everything to do with the choices you make, the behaviours you exhibit, the relationships you chose, and the realities you create."

"To be happy with yourself in the present moment while maintaining a dream of your future is a grand recipe for manifestation. When you feel so whole that you no longer care whether “it” will happen, that’s when amazing things materialize before your eyes. I’ve learned that being whole is the perfect state of creation. I’ve seen this time and time again in witnessing true healings in people all over the world. They feel so complete that they no longer want, no longer feel lack, and no longer try to do it themselves. They let go, and to their amazement, something greater than they are responds—and they laugh at the simplicity of the process."

"We’re addicted to our beliefs; we’re addicted to the emotions of our past. We see our beliefs as truths, not ideas that we can change. If we have very strong beliefs about something, evidence to the contrary could be sitting right in front of us, but we may not see it because what we perceive is entirely different. We’ve in fact conditioned ourselves to believe all sorts of things that aren’t necessarily true—and many of these things are having a negative impact on our health and happiness."

4. Ask and It Is Given: Learning to Manifest Your Desires - Esther and Jerry Hicks

"This is a universe of vibration. As Einstein once observed, "Nothing happens until something moves"- that is, everything vibrates to a particular measurable frequency. "

"Whatever you are thinking about is like planning a future event. When you are appreciating, you are planning. When you are worrying, you are planning. (Worrying is using your imagination to create something you do not want)."

"You are growth-seeking Beings, and as you are moving forward, you are at your happiest."

5. Think and Grow Rich - Napoleon Hill

"You are the master of your destiny. You can influence, direct and control your own environment. You can make your life what you want it to be."

"Before success comes in any man’s life, he is sure to meet with much temporary defeat, and, perhaps, some failure. When defeat overtakes a man, the easiest and most logical thing to do is to quit. That is exactly what the majority of men do. More than five hundred of the most successful men this country has ever known told the author their greatest success came just one step beyond the point at which defeat had overtaken them."

"Set your mind on a definite goal and observe how quickly the world stands aside to let you pass."
